To create a more durable retaining wall, you can set the blocks into place over the first layer and slightly stagger the second layer from the first layer. Keep placing the layers of edging pavers until the parts of the retaining wall are completed in your desire height. it should be 6 to 10 inches to retain the gravel on your driveway.
